Our Finland tours can help you experience one of Europe’s most progressive countries without the stress and strain of organising everything yourself.
Finland is uniquely beautiful and surrounded by ethereal, unspoilt forests and miles of Lapland wilderness. Tours of Finland provide ample opportunity to see this peaceful, graceful country in its best light.
All of our Finland tours go to Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Helsinki has a minimalist, cosy Nordic feel that’s more relaxed than most cities, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do there. Helsinki sits on an archipelago of over 300 islands and, if you’re the adventurous type, you can kayak, bike or ferry around the coast and islands to experience more of the beautiful landscape. It’s also home to the Suomenlinna Fortress – a fantastic UNESCO World Heritage site that began construction in the mid-18th century.
The city is considered a design capital, home to its own dedicated design district and some of Finland’s most famous designers. Even public spaces have a modern, sleek aesthetic, making the city a fascinating place to visit. Given its vibrant nature, any Finland tour wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the capital.

Find out more about our fascinating escorted tour of Helsinki, Tallinn, and Riga, spanning across three different countries with fascinating histories and heritage; Finland, Estonia and Latvia.
The respected German architect, Carl Ludvig Engel, was tasked with redeveloping the city, and his Neo-Classical influence played a significant role in shaping its aesthetics, giving Helsinki fine buildings to cement its new position of importance. Until then, Helsinki had struggled to find its feet, since being established first as a trade town to rival Estonian neighbour, Tallinn, by King Gustav I of Sweden in the 16th century. While it’s difficult to imagine it as a ‘beach resort’, Helsinki does actually boast dozens of beaches lining the Baltic Sea, as Finland is an archipelago with some 330 islands. Six of these islands have the impressive Suomenlinna Fortress spread across them, still inhabited by a small community who occupy buildings designed to blend into the beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. On our tour of Helsinki, you will spend time discovering the secrets of Suomenlinna and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere that shrouds the fortress.

Popular FAQs
If you're considering tours in Finland or planning to join one of our Finland group tours, it's helpful to know what languages are commonly spoken.
The primary language in Finland is Finnish, spoken by the vast majority of the population. It’s a unique language with no direct relation to most other European languages, making it a fascinating part of the country’s cultural identity.
Swedish is also an official language and is widely spoken, especially along Finland’s western coast and in the autonomous Åland Islands, where it is the dominant language.
In the far north, you’ll find communities of the indigenous Sami people, who speak various Sami languages. These are recognised minority languages and reflect the rich cultural diversity of the region.
Finally, English is commonly spoken as a second language, particularly among younger Finns and in urban areas. Travellers will find that communication is generally easy, especially in tourist-friendly locations.
If you're planning one of our Finland escorted tours or joining one of our guided tours to Finland, you’ll be pleased to know that travelling with a full British passport is usually straightforward.
Finland is part of the Schengen Area, which means UK passport holders can visit for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa, provided you’re travelling for tourism or business.
To meet entry requirements:
- Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before the date you arrive in Finland.
- It must also be valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave.
For the most up-to-date information, always check the https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/finland/entry-requirements.
All of our tours in Finland begin with your arrival at Helsinki Airport, the country’s main international gateway. Located in Vantaa, just 20 kilometres north of Helsinki’s city centre, the airport is ideally positioned for easy onward travel.
As the largest and busiest airport in Finland, Helsinki Airport offers excellent facilities and a smooth arrival experience for travellers joining our Finland group tours.
The airport is well-connected to the city centre via frequent trains and buses, making it simple and convenient to reach your hotel or meeting point. Whether you're arriving for a winter adventure or a summer escape, Helsinki Airport is your first step into the beauty of Finland.
If you're planning one of our Finland tours, it’s useful to know that the official currency in Finland is the euro (€). Finland adopted the euro in 2002, replacing the Finnish markka, which had been the national currency for decades.
While card payments are widely accepted across the country—including in shops, restaurants, and hotels—it’s still a good idea to carry a small amount of cash in euros, especially when visiting more remote areas or smaller local businesses that may not accept cards.
Having a few euros on hand can make your travel experience smoother, particularly during excursions or free time on your tour.
